| Mark your calendars!!! October 23, 2011 (Sunday) is the date for our 7th Annual Fundraiser. It will be held at Applebee's-16867 Sierra lakes Pkwy, Fontana, Ca 92336. All You Can eat Flapjack Fundraiser $10 per person. It will include Pancakes, Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, Potatoes, Coffee & OJ!!! Hope you can join us! We will have many RAFFLES & A Silent Auction! You do not need to be present to win!! $1.00 donation per ticket. On October 31, 2011 we will be celebrating Halloween with the Seniors at Citrus Villa in Fontana. The wonderful seniors asked us if we can come by to entertain them. Everyone is welcome it will be from 1:30-2:30. Everyone is welcome and if you cannot make it. We will gladly accept donations of cookies, drinks and candy. Believe me the Seniors will be very thankful! On May 14, 2011- Makayla's Haven participated in the San Diego Preeclampsia Walk. MHF donated the butterflies for the butterfly release to represent the babies who have lost their lives. May 5, 2011- MHF celebrated Cinco De Mayo at our local convelesant home. Volunteer Seniors would come by and sing to my precious Makayla when she was in NICU. Many of the elderly are forgotten and never visited. So we try to stop by a couple of times a year to sing and bring cheer to them. Everyone is welcome. 1030 am to noon on May 5, 2011 in Fontana. Call me if you would like to join us (Teresa 323-497-1188) March 5, 2011-Makayla's Haven Foundation participated in the Bone Marrow drive for a 4 year old boy named Ronan in our local community who is fighting for his life with a life threatening condition. We are proud to be officially registered as possible bone marrow donors. We pray Ronan will find a match soon. UPDATE: Ronan has found a match!!!! Thank you LORD! January 2011- February 8, 2011- I want to thank everyone who voted for me for the Glamour Magazine & Sally Hansen "Best in You" Contest. I was so excited to be nominated. Unfortunately, I was not chosen. But Makayla's Haven Foundation was exposed to many people who never knew we existed. So I am very happy about that. January 2011 Thank you for helping us help others. May you all have a blessed Holiday Season and a Happy New Year! December 2010 This month is one of our busiest months. My daughter Makayla was born and became an angel 6 years ago in December. So we like to do special things in her spirit. On December 5, 2010 we organized a pancake fundraiser to assist a family with little girl named Emily who is fighting cancer. She is only 6 years old and her family was getting financially burdened trying to make ends meet. I called friends & families to pull together and help Emily's family. We raised $1800 in cash and gift cards! On December 18, 2010-I gathered family & friends together and took baked goods to the local Senior assisted living center. We sang, danced and Santa even made a special appearance. We also gathered baby formula & baby items and donated them to a families for Christmas. October 2010 Thank you for joining us for our 6th Annual Flapjack Breakfast. We raise $4600. All proceeds will be used to assist families in there time of need. Hope to see you all next year! SEPTEMBER 2010 On September 19, 2010 Team Makayla completed a half marathon in Maui! In the spirit of my baby girl Makayla! I finished in 3:31 & Nina finished in 3:00. Zackery, Rosalinda,Madeline were the best support crew ever! Thank you all! You can see pics of our run on our FACEBOOK page "Makaylas Haven"! On October 12, 2010 at 7pm Makayla's Haven participated in Huntington Memorial Hospital "A time to remember" event. We will never forget our little Angel! On October 16,2010 we participated in "The Walk to Remember-Inland Empire". We met many wonderful families who have lost their babies, we hope to participate in this yearly event .
